There police say Renode was on a rooftop of an abandoned home, trying to hide from authorities.
Neighbors say they were startled by the commotion.
“My husband was like, there’s cops everywhere. I come out and I’m like, wow. They had everything blocked off,” said Carolyn Hutchison who lives across the street.
Hutchison says police ordered everyone to get inside their homes. IMPD says they used, what they call, less lethal rounds to get Renode to surrender. They say he surrendered after that without incident. Renode is being held in the Marion County jail awaiting an extradition hearing. No word on how long he had been in Indiana.
